Ok, not news, but I'm watching the newest ep. of Merlin and OMG WHY DOES NO ONE LOCK THEIR DOORS?
Two nights in a row, some guy sneeks into Arthurs bedroom to magic him, and then does it to some random chick. I mean SERIOUSLY. You'd think with how paranoid Uther is, he'd put some goddamn guards around, right? RIGHT?
Seriously.
Although I am enjoying how they keep refering to Arthur with phrases like 'sculpted by the gods' and 'every woman is attracted to him! I'm almost attracted to him!'
Ok, I'm going to go continue watching the episode.
Also, yes, I used an icon of Dumbledore for a Merlin post because I have no Merlin icons for whatever reason, and Dumbledore has a wizard hat. Wizard = Merlin
Also, since this is my second time doing the advent challenge, that means I've been on LJ for over a year now. Weird.
So here it is, my first entry to
( Mistletoe )
Medium: General
Subject: Robot Revolution
Title: Bodysnatchers
Notes: This is pretty short, but that's ok. Once the robots rise up, you won't have much time to listen to music anyway.
Rating: PG-13
A/N: This was me trying to ignore all the papers that are due this week, so this may not be any good. It's a follow up to my first little one-shot. So I guess it's not a one-shot anymore.
A/N 2: Parentheses are my OTP.
part one
( She finds herself at the piano during a particularly boring Glee practice. )
Fandom: Skins
Subject: Pandora Moon
Title: With Tape Across My Mouth
Warnings: None.
Notes: Pandora is probably my favorite character from Gen2, but they definitly don't utilize her enough. I think she's a lot more messed up than they let on, and I love the juxtaposition of her bubbly/weird self to all the crap she's done/gone through. I've seperated this mix into four(ish) parts: Pandora herself, Pandora & Effy, Pandora & Thomas, Pandora & Cook.
Anyway. I feel like I haven't properly ranted about TV in a while, so here I go. (under cuts to avoid spamming you all).
Also, has anyone else heard that Hulu is going to start charging in 2010? That blows.
Rating: PG-13 for language
A/N: This is really only my second fic outside of the OC fandom, and my first Glee fic, but I've become so enamored with Puck/Rachel, that this wouldn't leave my head.
A/N 2: Also, nothing in 'Mash-Up' happened. I'm being completely random and AU.
A/N 3: I apologize in advance for my love of parentheses.
Turns out, my nerd-dom knows no bounds.
I found MonsterQuest episodes On Demand and I am embarassingly excited. Right now I'm watching 'American Werewolf'. (and right now they're talking about some guy eating fetuses.... gross)
In other news, I am totally screwed this week. I have two article reviews due Wednesday, a paper and a speech due Thursday, and a group project we're supposed to start tomorrow. (Of course, I've only been at my school for a year because I transfered in, so I don't really know a lot of people, and I don't know anyone in the class, which means I have no group, which means I'll have to get stuck with random people I don't know. Fun.)
(ps - on friday i made auntie anne's pretzels and they are SO GOOD)
Glee is off the air for the next 2 weeks, Fringe and SPN weren't on last Thursday, and my Facebook news feed is filled with 'PHILLIES OMG!!11!!!' Seriously, I'm all for pride in your city, but stfu.
Also, Dollhouse is gonna be gone for the entirety of November which is NOT COOL. I've been getting pretty annoyed with Echo and Paul (because really, Paul is a major creeper) but Sierra/Victor are ADORABLE, and my love for Topher grows with each episode (as does my love for Topher/Adelle.) Friday's episode was so amazing. Probably the best episode yet (and oh, hey, Echo was barely in it.) They had better not cancel Dollhouse, otherwise I'm done with Fox. I gave them a second chance after they cancelled Firefly, but this is it.
Although I do love Glee, which is Fox... But I could totally give up Fringe. It's been disappointing as hell this season and I keep hoping Anna Torv will stop being so goddamn wooden all the time, but she doesn't. I honestly do not care about Olivia. The only reason I watch is for Joshua Jackson.
I really need to create my own TV network, just so I can air Joss Whedon shows. 24/7 Joss Whedon. It shall be called WHEDONLAND and it will be awesome.
I LOVE GLEE
And Puck/Rachel is my new OTP.
Medium: Books/Graphic Novels
Fandom: Y: the Last Man

Title: Weight of the World
Warnings: Umm... images contain blood? Blood and guns.
Notes: For anyone who hasn't read them, the basic plot is 'the entire male population of every species dies suddenly, except for one New Yorker and his pet capuchin monkey'. It's just as awesome as it sounds.

I love teh internets.
I need Merlin icons, stat.
Umm... so I've decided to take my playlist from the other day and turn it into a full-blown fanmix. Hurrah!
Medium: General
Subject: New York City
Title: NYC
Notes: I made a playlist for my trip to NYC and decided to share. Also? This is my first fanmix. Ever. (The back cover of this kind of sucks. Ignore it, please.)
ETA: I re-uploaded the covers, so they're a little clearer.
Sooo... this is my first non-OC fic. I'm kind of going through a serious case of 'it wouldn't be too horrible if I died, because then I wouldn't have to deal with school anymore' and that means procrastination. And procrastination leads to fic. Except I can't seem to write for the OC lately and I wrote this a while ago, just for kicks, so... yeah. Feel free not to read it, this is just a way for me to vent, kind of.
Title: anything you ask and more
Rating: PG13 for slight swearing
A/N: Sid/Cassie, because I was very unhappy with the way they left things at the end of series 2.
A/N 2: It's my usual (no dialogue, run on sentences, random jumps through time)
A/N 3: Title is from 1901 by Phoenix, which is kind of like my new crack (as opposed to my old crack The Temper Trap and not, in fact, actual crack.)
(this is for reals and not a joke)
Classes have started up again, the weather is getting colder, and Fall TV is officially ON. This turned out slightly longish, so it's under the cut!
( WTF, Wincest, BROMANCE, omfgchuckandblair, low cheekbones, Josh Groban, trannies with guns, and angst. Am I missing anything? )
Next week Dollhouse premiers, which I think will be the last of my Fall TV watching. Now I just need to wait for Chuck sometime in the Spring and the 2nd season of Merlin, if the US decides to pick it up.
Also, does anybody know where I can watch free TV that isn't Hulu? Because (god help me) I kind of want to watch Dawson's Creek, but it's not on TV or Hulu and I really don't feel like spending money on it. Also, Dark Angel and maybe Alias.
So school started this week and it blows. I feel like I've had zero downtime since Monday morning (and it's kind of true.) Oh, and I got a freaking parking ticket already because I hadn't updated my parking pass yet. So now I have to trek all the way across campus to the security office to pay it off (or argue it). Which is annoying, because it's a long, uphill walk, and I don't live there. I commute, so I kind of want to just get the hell out of there after my classes end.
Thank god I only have one class on Fridays and I don't work Saturdays anymore. So hurrah! weekend!
On the TV front, I watched the pilot of Glee, which I found amusing. I will continue to watch it as it airs.
Also, I've just watched the latest episode of Skins (here in the US), and it was Freddie's episode. I know he's supposed to be the main protagonist, but I don't really care about him. I find him annoying and whiny and cliched. Effy's starting to get on my nerves, too. And even Cook, who I rooted for in the beginning, is just a jackass for seemingly no reason. I like Pandora, though. She's my favorite. And I like Naomi. Other than that, I'm kind of bleh about all of them so far.
But apparently they're adapting it for over here? I mean, according to Wikipedia, which is always right. I kind of don't get how they're going to make Skins a US show. Are they going to keep the exact same characters, just American? Because they can't even keep the same 'plot' because there isn't really one. It's not like the Office, where they kept the same general idea. The general idea of Skins is: teen drama. American TV can't show all the drugs/drinking/nudity like they do over in the UK (which is still something I'm getting used to. It totally weirded me out to see teenagers going into bars and getting drinks.)
And if they keep the same exact characters and plotlines, it's going to be kind of boring. I dunno.
